Coaxing Injured Nerve Fibers to Regenerate by Disabling 'Brakes' in the System

ScienceDaily (Dec. 10, 2009) — Brain and spinal-cord injuries typically leave people with permanent impairment because the injured nerve fibers (axons) cannot regrow. New stem cell lines approved for tax-paid research

Hans Keirstead Can Make Mice Walk Again (and Humans, Too?)


Seven years ago, he used stem cells to make paralyzed rats walk again. Next year his stem cell elixir will be injected into humans. What's next? It's anyone's guess.
